JointWave is a noninvasive, high-intensity focused acoustic wave therapy used in musculoskeletal care. It is not a cure, and it is not expected to work for every person or condition.
How treatment works
Acoustic pressure waves are delivered through a handheld applicator to a targeted area to stimulate a local tissue response. Treatment may be uncomfortable, and each person's response varies.
Conditions Dr. Poisal evaluates for treatment
Candidacy is decided through an assessment. JointWave may be considered for selected persistent tendon, muscle, plantar fascia, knee, and shoulder complaints. It is not appropriate for every diagnosis and is not a treatment for nerve-related pain.
What patients can expect during a visit
A visit includes a short assessment and discussion of whether JointWave is appropriate, followed by treatment sessions delivered in-office when indicated. We reassess your response and keep the plan individualized, without promising a fixed number of sessions or timeline.
